Killarney Lake Hotel

We stayed at the Killarney Lake Hotel for one night, thankfully we arrived in the late afternoon as it would be a real shame to miss this hotel in the daylight as it is in the most stunning setting. When we checked in after our long drive from Dublin we were very happy to be upgraded to a four poster room with a balcony overlooking the lake.

The staff were all extremely helpful and after checking in we had a drink by the lake at the hotel bar and then took a stroll down to the ruins of the 12th Century MacCarthy Castle on the shore of the lake. We then decided to make the most of our upgraded room and have dinner on our balcony via room service. The food was delivered very quickly and J and I both had the burger and chips and it was very good! The only downside to the hotel was that there was no wifi but the jacuzzi bath was a nice bonus. In the morning we had breakfast overlooking the lake downstairs in one of the hotels restaurants. It was a good spread with both cold and hot options available.

I would recommend the hotel to anyone staying in Killarney, it was very good value for money and the location was magical!
