This is one of the top places to visit in the guide book and if you are anything like me a food market is always high on the list! The English Market is made up of dozens of stalls selling fresh fish, meat, baked goods, cheese, fruit and vegetables, baked goods, sweets and chocolate.
We arrived quite late in the day and I would definitely advise going as early as possible as most of the stalls start to close at 4pm. There is a very nice cafe upstairs called Farmgate Restaurant that sells sandwiches and cakes.
I could have spend a lot of money in that market but as we still had to make the two and a half hour drive back to Dublin I settled for some traditional Irish cheeses and some Cashel Blue to take home for my brother (it was very well received).
The Queen stopped at The English Market on her Irish Tour and you can see why…
