Quechee between Christmas and New Year – Part .2.

Ice hockey on the frozen pond by the condo, our lovely neighbours leave the sticks and puck out so anyone can play……

There was plenty of time to hang out at the condo with the girls and this was J showing them the YouTube ‘Cat’ videos!

After a fun day with the girls a snow storm descended on us, thankfully we had plenty of leftovers in the house as driving anywhere was out of the question! G took the girls home so they were safely back with mum and dad and on his way back he got stuck in the snow storm at the bottom of the hill and had to abandon the car and treck home in the dark and through the snow. The lesson of this story is do not rent a Ford SUV if you think you might encounter snow or ice as it has a compete meltdown on contact and turns off! We later replaced it for a proper 4×4 which we needed to get up B’s hill! That night firewood was a must have, so I bravely layered up over my pj’s and dressing gown and went to get us supplies…

Being snowed in seemed a good excuse to bake more mince pies!

The next day, after dozens of phone calls to find the car, and then replacing the car, we were all a little exhausted so we had take away (pizza and Chinese) and had the girls sleep over. We watched ‘The Millers’ and ‘Bridesmaids’ to get them in the mood for their roles next year!

The next day the girls wanted to take advantage of the fresh snow and the sloped run behind the condo so we didn’t have to travel far….

They worked up quite an appetite skiing so there was only one thing for it… KOTO! So we all went of for Japanese and followed that up with L’s favourite coffee place Tuckerbox, where the coffee was excellent! It was my last coffee of 2013!
